Now that Christmas is over I can show you some of my impromptu presents I made this year. I got a little motivated!
My sister loves robots so when I saw these stockings I couldn't resist. I only hoped she hadn't seen them before.
I think she liked them
I tried my hand at some doll clothes for my great niece's American Girl doll. I haven't heard if they fit yet! I hope so!
Then I found an Amy Butler Scarf pattern I thought I'd try for my teenage great niece. Not my best work but has potential.
I also made a dog bed for my brother's dog, Baby but for the life of me I can't find the pictures so you'll just have to wait.

2011 Craft Fair!!
I think our first year of doing the Town & Country Christmas Bazaar was a success. I'm sure we could have done better but we certainly could have done a lot worse!!
I was joined by my sister Darci and my daughter in law Abby. The jury is still out if we are going to attempt it next year but I'll keep you posted!! We had fun!!

I Took A Break
Well... I didn't mean to, it just happened.
Happy to say though I haven't stopped doing my crafts though. My latest projects have been revolving around baby stuff, I have a craft fair in early December I'm going to attempt so I have been making other stuff besides felt crafts.
I made a couple baby blankets and doing one more right now. They are a little heavier than receiving blankets but lighter than quilts. They are made from flannel and have been pre-washed so are so soft and comfy.
This is my little boy blanket ...
And this is the little girl blanket I made ...
I started playing around with burp cloths too... Here's a couple samples and I'm working on some using Minky and Chenile.. I know.. high class huh?
I've been doing so much more and will update more soon!

Let There Be Light
So I have a very primitive work space when I'm creating "felt art". I sit on my couch with a TV tray and watch television. The lighting is so bad sometimes I can't tell if I'm using white beige or yellow thread. It's the worst. This weekend we cleaned out our garage and remembered we had this super awesome light stored in there. I brought it in the house; cleaned it up; turned it on and I absolutely LOVE IT!
I know - small space - but it works for me rght now.
While I'm at it - I thought I'd share my practice Cabbage and Squash - not quite sure about them yet.

I Love My Kindle
I never use to be a big reader. I admit, in my high school Lit class I would copy my older brothers papers from the previous year so I didn't have to read. Now that I'm older - especially since I've started experiencing the empty nest syndrome - I've started reading more and more. Christmas 2009 I got a Kindle and I'm totally in love with it. In one year I read more books than my previous 44 years.
I am so excited to start reading The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen.
I've read her previous three books and if you get the chance.. look them up and read them! You won't regret it.

Diaper Cake
So I've spent some time this afternoon working on the diaper cake for the baby shower I'm attendng this weekend. The color and theme is brown and green with elephants. Now, if you go out to the stores you will know that that combination is virtually impossible to find so I had to get creative.
Since I'm very new to sewing, I tried my hand at making a receiving blanket and a couple burp cloths. I don't think I did half bad!
Ofcourse it's not done yet - I still need to run get some more diapers and ribbons but this is where I am so far!

A Couple of Goodwill Finds
So Me and my sister are planning on selling at a craft fair or two this summer/fall to sell some of our Play Felt Food, toys (I'll post examples at a later time). I've been keeping my eye out for stuff to display the items with. Awhile back I found this great doll cradle. I thought I'd paint it and make some doll blankets or something.
Then earlier this week I found this adorable little doll high chair. Ain't it cute?
Just for good measure I'll show you this wall shelf I also found. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it - but I just kind of liked it!

Making Felt Flowers!!
I have sooooo many projects to do! And so many projects I want to do! Right now I'm working on a couple things. I'm making a Diaper Cake for a baby shower I'm going to in a couple weeks and I'm also making a banner for another baby shower as well.
The baby shower is lavender, white with a touch of yellow. I'm making the banner out of flannel...
These are some of the flowers I'll attach to the banner. I'm waiting to see if the mom and dad will settle on a name and if so I'll put that on the banner, otherwise it'll probably just say "Welcome" or somethin'. I'll attach it all with dingleberries and bingo bango .. Done! I'll keep you posted!
