Welcome Baby Banner

Finally finished! I wanted to make sure it got done so I opted for the word "baby" instead of the baby's name. I think it's cute but honestly, it was cuter in my head but overall, I'm very happy with it!

Lately I've only been working on my felt projects in the evening so Its been taking a long time to get just one project done. I'm finally done with my hot dogs and buns. What do you think?

I Love My Kindle

I never use to be a big reader. I admit, in my high school Lit class I would copy my older brothers papers from the previous year so I didn't have to read. Now that I'm older - especially since I've started experiencing the empty nest syndrome - I've started reading more and more. Christmas 2009 I got a Kindle and I'm totally in love with it. In one year I read more books than my previous 44 years.

I am so excited to start reading The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen.



I've read her previous three books and if you get the chance.. look them up and read them! You won't regret it.

Dinner Set

So I've been working on a felt Dinner Play Set.



I'm not the happiest with it especially the silverware. This is what I started with - stuffing them. But being so small it just didn't look right.



So I tried just flat pieces and still not happy... I'll have to work on new ideas.

Got Milk?

So as I've said before me and my sister are hoping to do some craft fairs this summer/fall and sell our felt wares.

Here's my latest I just finished. Everyone needs a carton of milk and a loaf of bread right?

Brysons Turning 2!

Two years ago I was blessed with my first grandbaby. Time sure flies when your having fun! Happy Birthday Bryson!!

Diaper Cake Done!

So here is the finish product! I've wrapped in clear celophane with a big bow but I think it turned out ok.

Diaper Cake

So I've spent some time this afternoon working on the diaper cake for the baby shower I'm attendng this weekend. The color and theme is brown and green with elephants. Now, if you go out to the stores you will know that that combination is virtually impossible to find so I had to get creative.

Since I'm very new to sewing, I tried my hand at making a receiving blanket and a couple burp cloths. I don't think I did half bad!

Ofcourse it's not done yet - I still need to run get some more diapers and ribbons but this is where I am so far!

A Couple of Goodwill Finds

So Me and my sister are planning on selling at a craft fair or two this summer/fall to sell some of our Play Felt Food, toys (I'll post examples at a later time). I've been keeping my eye out for stuff to display the items with. Awhile back I found this great doll cradle. I thought I'd paint it and make some doll blankets or something.

Then earlier this week I found this adorable little doll high chair. Ain't it cute?

Just for good measure I'll show you this wall shelf I also found. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it - but I just kind of liked it!

Making Felt Flowers!!

I have sooooo many projects to do! And so many projects I want to do! Right now I'm working on a couple things. I'm making a Diaper Cake for a baby shower I'm going to in a couple weeks and I'm also making a banner for another baby shower as well.



The baby shower is lavender, white with a touch of yellow. I'm making the banner out of flannel...





These are some of the flowers I'll attach to the banner. I'm waiting to see if the mom and dad will settle on a name and if so I'll put that on the banner, otherwise it'll probably just say "Welcome" or somethin'. I'll attach it all with dingleberries and bingo bango .. Done! I'll keep you posted!
